A well-established manufacturing company in Missoula is seeking a dependable and motivated individual to lead daily operations in their assembly department. The Assembly Department Lead is responsible for overseeing production activities, supporting team performance, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with company guidelines. The ideal candidate brings strong communication skills, a hands-on approach, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Starting Pay: $20 to $23/hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Full-time

Essential Functions and Duties:

• Lead daily department huddles to plan schedules, address issues, and communicate priorities; maintain open communication with leadership
• Provide hands-on leadership by training staff, monitoring performance and efficiency, and ensuring adherence to company policies and safety protocols
• Oversee workflow and production metrics, track material movement, and ensure timely and accurate completion of shop orders and documentation
• Support quality control efforts by assisting with inspections, resolving discrepancies, and partnering with QA to maintain product standards
• Operate equipment as needed to cover absences, maintain knowledge of all roles in the department, and support consistent workflow
• Drive continuous improvement by supporting cost-saving initiatives, promoting a positive work environment, and fostering adaptability to change

Qualifications:

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Basic math skills and the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
• General computer skills, experience in Excel a plus
• High school diploma or equivalent
