The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation (RMEF) is a mission-driven non-profit dedicated to ensuring the future of elk, other wildlife, their habitat and our hunting heritage. Since our founding in 1984, we have helped conserve nearly one square mile of elk country every day. In partnership with others, we have conserved or enhanced more the 9.1 million acres including improving public access to 1.6 million acres.

Position Overview

As Director of Information Technology (IT), you will lead RMEF’s IT team and drive strategic technology initiatives that support our conservation mission efforts. This leadership role provides strategic oversight of all IT operations, ensuring our technology infrastructure, systems, and services effectively empower staff, volunteers, and supporters nationwide.

You will play a key role in RMEF’s digital transformation including optimizing and enhancing RMEF’s NetSuite ERP system to ensure it continues to support organizational efficiency and growth. Working closely with RMEF leadership, you will align technology projects with organizational goals, manage IT resources and budgets, and foster a high-performing team culture.

Location: This position is based at RMEF’s Headquarters office in Missoula, MT

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is required
• Must have a minimum of seven years of progressive experience in a business environment including three years leading technical teams
• Advanced degree or relevant certifications (PMP, ITIL, CISSP) are preferred
• Experience with NetSuite or similar systems is highly desirable
